Hello, everybody. My name is Maxwell, and I have been going to Dominion City since 2015, and I really just wanted to share my testimony of God's goodness and God's faithfulness in my life over the years. For all of those who do not know me, I have been attending Morehouse School of Medicine, and I'm currently a rising fourth -year student. And something recently just happened that was really just mind -blowing, but I kind of have to give you more of the full story for you to really understand what took place.
So my very first year in school, I had decided with God that I not only was going to go to school, but that I was going to do ministry and do that for His kingdom. So my first year in school, I actually helped to start up a new Christian organization on campus with a group of students. And that was really a huge sacrifice because medical school is already very tough. It's very demanding. There's a lot of work that you have to do, and it's just constant nonstop studying. But, you know, I was faithful about it. I
said that I trust God throughout this process, so me and a few other students, I came together and done that. And make a long story short, my first year went incredibly well. I did it really well in school. The ministry expanded, and it was really impacting lives. And just overall, things that could go well were really going well. My second year is when I had first -faced challenges. There was two classes. There was a couple of classes in particular that I wasn't doing as well in. And there was a lot of transitions as far as the leadership, because a lot of new people who was on the team who weren't there before. So it was just, it was a lot of different things that I was dealing with that year. To make a long story short, I had ended up not passing a couple of my classes.
And at that time, I really was, I don't know if you want to say distraught, but just really trying to figure out what is going on, because I felt like, God, I'm giving you my all. I'm sacrificing so much, sacrificing my time, giving my all towards ministry, giving my all towards study. And I'm doing my very best. And why am I falling short right now? And that was a really tough period for me, because all of my friends, all the people who even did ministry with me, went on and advanced to their next year in school.
But I had to actually stay back, and I had to repeat that year. So like I said, that was a tough period. But God has been faithful. God has been good throughout the process. And the following year, I was able to retake the classes, made A's and B's, did really well on my board exam the following year. But the part that really, really got me was what happened most recently. And before I share that news of what just took place this year, I want to give you background on that as well, too.
